Summer 2026 NextGen Internship Application

Applicants must attend a college/university that has an established agreement with NextGen STEM Fellowship, Inc.

Summer 2026 Internship Dates:  

May 26th - July 31st

Applications Requirements:  Please read carefully!

5. Which Internships are you applying for? Please list in order of preference. 
6. Are you a U.S. Citizen? (Yes/No)
7. Are you a U.S. Permanent Resident? (Yes/No)
8. Please identify which of the descriptions below best describes your ethnic group: 

___ Hispanic or Latino: A person of Cuban, Mexican, Puerto Rican, South or Central American, or other Spanish culture or origin regardless of race.

___ White (Not Hispanic or Latino): A person having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East or North Africa.

___ Black or African American (Not Hispanic or Latino): A person having origins in any of the Black racial groups of Africa.

___ Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander (Not Hispanic or Latino): A person having origins in any of the peoples of Hawaii, Guam, Samoa or other Pacific Islands.

9.  List your current college/university and any previously attended. Please include:

         a) Expected date of graduation. (e.g.,  May 2027)

         b) Current STEM major. (You must be actively working to complete                  a STEM degree.)

10.  Students applying for Electrical/Mechanical Engineering positions must list all engineering courses taken.

11. Attach two academic references from STEM professors. List their names, titles, and college/university affiliation.

12. Electronic Signature Certification:  Please type your full legal name certifying that your answers are true and complete to the best of your knowledge and you understand that any misleading information may make you ineligible for a NextGen internship.

Required Attachments

Please attach the following to your application:

• Reference letters from two college/university professors in a STEM field that attest to the applicant's academic potential and motivation.  Letters must be written on college/university letterhead and be signed by the professor.  Professors who wish to submit letters directly to NextGen can email info@nextgenfellows.org
• A brief written statement or project description that communicates passion and motivation for one of the STEM fields and aspirations for future work in that field.
• Unofficial transcripts from all colleges or universities attended.  Transcripts must show student name, college name, full-time enrollment in a STEM major, current course load, and good academic standing. 
• One color photo taken in the last 6 months. It must show a clear image of the applicant's face. Do not use filters commonly used on social media.
