Complete the application form with the following information:
- Full Legal Name

- Address: Home and Academic Year
- Which Internships are you applying for? Please list in order of preference. (You may apply for as many as you wish)
- Are you a U.S. citizen? (Yes/No)
- Are you authorized to work in the United States? (Yes/No)
- NextGen applicants must be part of a community underrepresented in STEM. Which of these communities do you belong to, for example first-gen, women, minorities, students with disabilities? (For more information, see our FAQs.)
- List your current college/university and any previously attended. Please include:
- Expected date of graduation. (e.g. May, 2026)
- Current STEM major. (You must be actively working to complete a STEM degree.)
- Students applying for Electrical/Mechanical positions must list all engineering courses taken.
- Two academic references from STEM professors: names, titles, and University affiliation.
- Electronic Signature Certification: Please type your full legal name certifying that your answers are true and complete to the best of your knowledge and you understand that any misleading information may make you ineligible for a NextGen internship.

Required Attachments
Please attach the following to your application:
- Nomination letters from two college/university professors in a STEM field that attest to the applicant's academic potential and motivation. Letters must be written on college/university letterhead and be signed by the professor. Professors who wish to submit the letter directly to NextGen can email info@nextgenfellows.org
- A brief written statement or project description that communicates passion and motivation for one of the STEM fields and aspirations for future work in that field.
- Unofficial transcripts from all colleges or universities attended. Transcripts must show student name, college name, full-time enrollment in a STEM major, current course load, and good academic standing.
- One color photo taken in the last 6 months. It must show a clear image of the applicant's face. Do not use filters commonly used on social media.
- Resumes are required for DOE applicants.
