This position involves the development of cutting-edge technology in intelligent prosthetic devices. Fiore has created artificial hands (with the vision to advance the technology to create artificial limbs) with sensors to measure temperature, acceleration and position through a biological interface that allows for a more natural prosthetic experience.
The intern will provide basic assistance in support of assigned projects and requires a strong working knowledge of human biology. Assignments typically include documenting the work done to date, researching the current state of the industry, and applying information to advance the project. The position involves moderately complex technology, applications, and project goals. Perform work of low to moderate difficulty and responsibility with minimal latitude and independent judgement. Work is monitored or reviewed prior to completion.
All work will take place on-site at the Fiore Corporate Office in Albuquerque, NM, and work will be overseen by the Fiore engineer or project manager leading the assigned work.
Students must complete sophomore standing or above by May 2024 and be actively working towards a bachelor’s degree in biology, engineering or related STEM field.
