This position involves the development of cutting-edge technology in intelligent prosthetic devices. Fiore has created artificial arms with sensors to measure temperature, acceleration and position through a biological interface that allows for a more natural prosthetic experience.
The intern will provide basic assistance in support of assigned projects and requires exposure to computer programming and algorithm development. Assignments typically include developing algorithms to define the motion of intelligent prosthetic arms and applying information to advance the project. The position involves moderately complex technology, applications, and project goals. Perform work of low to moderate difficulty and responsibility with minimal latitude and independent judgement. Work is monitored or reviewed prior to completion.
All work will take place on-site at the Fiore Corporate Office in Albuquerque, NM, and be overseen by the Fiore engineer or project manager leading the assigned work.
Students must complete sophomore standing or above by May 2024, and be working towards a bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, engineering or related STEM field.
