This position involves the development of cutting-edge technology in the company’s patented Vehicle Stopper using high powered microwaves. Fiore has contracts to perform Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) testing, including developing hardware for this testing, and has a fully equipped laboratory for supporting this activity. Interns will participate in EMP testing, support and the development of hardware for High Power Microwave testing and data acquisition.
The intern will provide basic assistance in support of assigned projects and requires working knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical engineering. Assignments typically include new product design support and applying information to advance the project. The position involves moderately complex technology, applications, and project goals. Interns will perform work of low to moderate difficulty and responsibility with minimal latitude and independent judgement. Work is monitored or reviewed prior to completion.
All work will take place in-person, on-site at the Fiore Corporate Office in Albuquerque, NM, and be overseen by the Fiore engineer or project manager leading the assigned work.
Students must complete sophomore standing or above by May 2024 and be actively working towards a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related STEM field.
